ARC Named Top 10 Small Business Two Years Running

April 16, 2010 -- Athletic & Rehabilitation Center has been named for the second year in a row as one of the Top 10 Small Businesses in The Greater Kansas City area and will once again compete for the coveted Mr. K Award for Small Business of the Year.

This year over 160 companies competed for the prestigious Top 10 honor in what has become the largest celebration of small business in the country.

“Being selected last year as a Top 10 company was a wonderful thing for ARC and our staff. But being selected a second year in a row is truly an honor. It’s just another demonstration of how our talented staff go the extra mile, think outside the box and redefine the healthcare experience every day for our clients. It’s how they make a difference with each and every one of our 12,000 and counting patients and it’s the reason we’ve been able to grow to nine clinics in 2010. Our clinicians and staff are the reason for this award. They challenge us every day to do a better job and get even better results.” said Matt Condon, President/CEO of Athletic & Rehabilitation Center.

ARC was selected based in part on their innovative approach to their business highlighted in their initiative, Redefine Excellence. This program provides our employees with:
Ongoing, continuing education programs, technical training sessions and one-on-one
mentoring to help our therapists become the most highly skilled in their industry,
Employee satisfaction programs, that reward and recognize excellence among our staff,
Client roundtables to help our staff better understand the needs of our clients and remain
client focused.

ARC’s state-of-the-art wellness and fitness online portals, Redefine-Wellness.com and RedefineAthletes.com were also noted as innovative and creative solutions for clients.

ARC earned high mark as well in community service and involvement for breaking new ground in the fight against childhood obesity through their “I’m an Athlete!” program. ARC, teaming with professional athletes and members of the fire and police departments, help augment school physical education programs and help children learn the importance of exercise in their lives. The children learn about healthy living habits, have fun and exercise with an obstacle course training system.

The Top 10 candidates for Small Business of the year will be honored at an April 19th Chamber Board meeting, a reception on April 22nd, in a Top 10 Billboard and at a Top 10 Breakfast on May 4th featuring a Top 10 CEO roundtable discussion. May 19th the Mr. K Award winner will be announced at the Small Business Awards Luncheon.
